Polynesian Canoe
Also known as Hawaiian canoe, it is a sport practiced worldwide that follows the tradition and customs of the Polynesian people's mode of transportation. Originally made from the trunks of dead trees, canoes were the primary means of transport for the inhabitants of the islands located in the Polynesian triangle (New Zealand, Hawaii, and Easter Island).
Today canoes are made of fiber or carbon and are spread throughout the world in any coastal location or lake region. It is a practice seen both as a sport and as an option for a trip to connect with nature.
In Barra da Lagoa there is a Kanaloa Vaa school base (link) where it is possible to book different trips taking a canoe along the Barra Canal, going either to Lagoa da Conceição or to the sea, and you can even go to the Natural Pools. Always with a break for shower. Even those who don't know how to swim can go, the canoe is safe and comes with life jackets.
